What’s ahead for Cantorae? Well, there will be Vespers at the Shrine on November 9th and December 7th at 6 p.m., starting with the Angelus.
On Saturday, December 15th, Cantorae will join forces with Florida Living History to participate in Navidad en el Viejo San Agustin at the Mission Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine. This is the second year for this wonderful evening event that presents holiday theatre, music, foodways and more from early St. Augustine. This picture shows the fascinating Spanish belen that will also be on display. The evening runs from 6 to 9 pm and admission is free.
At 6 p.m. we will present a short concert of chant, polyphony, and villancicos (Spanish Christmas carols) in the Shrine Chapel of La Leche. One performance only, so you’ll want to be there.
Later on, Cantorae director Mary Jane Ballou will perform on the harp with dances and music that would have graced the governor’s residence. Plan to make it an evening!
