The Abbey Shop at Farnborough
I love monastic shops - and so should you!
This one at St. Michael's Abbey, Farnborough is wonderful. Beautiful cards, an amazing range of books, splendid crucifixes. Not a bit of schlock. Just the beautiful, the true and the good.
There's a splendid Latin-English Monastic Diurnal, a guide to church embroidery for anyone longing to produce a smashing frontal, and many weighty tomes. CDs you may not have seen elsewhere.
And why not spend some time on the abbey's excellent website, exploring its beauty and learning about this daughter of Solesmes' rich history with Napoleanic associations?
As the holidays approach, why not spend your thoughtful dollars or euros or whatevers here - or in one of the many shops like it?
Now I'm back to shopping (with only a little buying).

lasermonks.com started out selling toner and printer cartridges, but have since branched out and become a sort of clearing house for monastic-produced goods from Europe and the U.S. They have lots of things that would make lovely Christmas presents.
