About Me

Glad you asked! I'm Mary Jane Ballou - a free-lance musician, living in St. Augustine, Florida. As an instrumentalist on the harp and salterio, I perform primarily on the lever harp, specializing in weddings and special events. My repertoire ranges from classical to the great songs of the 1930s and 40s, with a touch of New Age and Celtic on the harp.

In addition to the weddings and special event performances, I teach private students. My second CD of music on harp and salterio has just been released and there are more projects in the works.

On the vocal front, I sing with a small women's schola and work intermittently as a church music director and organist.

In addition to all of the above, I'm a Roman Catholic convert with strong roots in the Protestant South and many years in the Russian Orthodox Church. I follow church and social trends, worry about the future, and hope for the best.
